A Three bedroom Georgian townhouse for sale in Chester

Good afternoon one and all, it is your favorite intrepid explorer, Ralph here. In the gloriously crisp and bright sunshine earlier today, I set off from the RP office for a short jaunt across a sun-kissed Chester to review a stylish townhouse located on King Street within the city walls.

There was a decided spring in my step as I made my way to King Street and, even with the distraction of a number of delightful smells along the way which it was essential to investigate, it still only took me a little over 5 minutes to reach my destination. Now you may recall that I have visited King Street before, but I was struck again by the old-world charm of this cobbled street. It is reminiscent of a bygone era when dogs were not required to work for a living, when our only concern was choosing where to rest our pampered heads. Pulling myself from my reverie I made my way down the street until I arrived outside the bold blue door of No 10. I looked up and found myself straining to see right to the top of it as it is a lovely three storey Georgian building and, let’s face it, I am a little vertically challenged! In the style of the era, it is a very imposing building and I could just imagine welcoming my friends from the dog agility club, feeling rather smug at the look of awe on their faces.

Once over the threshold I found myself in a hallway that led me on to a ground floor bedroom (very handy for Granny Penelope Pug when she comes to visit). I also found a very attractive and stylish sitting room as well as a cloakroom conveniently located off to the side.

Back in the hallway I discovered a staircase that leads up to the first and second floors but also one that leads down into what was the cellar. There I found a really well fitted out study – tucked away from the family, this would be the perfect place to work.

Feeling like a little bundle of energy after my restful weekend, I bounded up the stairs and then straight on to the first floor where the main accommodation can be found. Turning right I found myself in a very elegant drawing room with the focal point being an impressive and ornate Chesney marble fireplace surrounding a living flame gas fire. It is a room that lends itself to sophisticated soirees and intelligent conversation – I can picture myself and my “about town” friends, Sebastian the Red Setter and Bertram the Bichon Frise, reclining on a sofa discussing the state of dog walking in the UK these days.

Heading into the open plan kitchen and dining area I was immediately struck by the light and spacious feel as well as the clever intertwining of classic and contemporary features. Two beautiful nearly floor to ceiling windows in a Georgian style are a real feature in the room and they just perfectly complement the sleek modern white kitchen units with their super chic granite worktops and splashback. This is quite the space for a spot of casual entertaining . Next stop was the second floor which I was pleased to discover was spacious with two good-sized double bedrooms complete with fitted wardrobes and a shower room.

Satisfied that this exquisite house really is every bit the chic townhouse from top to toe, I headed back to the ground floor to set off back to the office. Before I left I popped my head out to survey the courtyard at the back of the house which offers something tantamount to gold dust for a property within the city walls – off-road parking for one or two vehicles. Really what more could one want? – 10 King Street really does tick every box for someone looking for a stylish city centre pad with oodles of character.

If you think that 10 King Street could be for you then please feel free to call me or one of my team on 01244 322322 to book an appointment to viewit.

Until next time

Ralph reviews a contemporary detached house in Willaston

I’m not sure about you but I just love going for walks on these crisp late Autumn days – the fallen leaves hide a multitude of treasures which I delight in snuffling out and presenting to my mum as gifts.  This week I have collected a small pile of acorns, two (highly prized) conkers, a family of earwigs attached to the underside of a stick, a snail and three beetles.  As I drop each gift at mum’s feet she looks at me with a curious mixture of pride and consternation… Read more
