The Old Doctors’ Farndon
This stunning and imposing house has a Grade II* listing and dates back to the late 17th century. The starred listing means that some internal features, in this case the staircase and the panelled drawing room, are covered as well as the exterior features and appearance.
The buyers were relocating from London and had not owned a listed property before, so this was a big move in many ways for them. They wanted to move quickly and the vendors were happy to accommodate them, but the age and complexity of the property gave the parties’ solicitors extra points to cover and negotiate. While representing the vendor and their interests, it is often necessary, particularly when selling a larger, period property, to spend as much time in discussion with the purchaser and their solicitors to keep the conveyancing process moving along and this proved the case here.
“I believe there is no finer estate agent in the country than the Rickitt Partnership! Tim and Emma are just brilliant at their job: from honest, thoughtful valuation, through beautifully produced brochures (& online presence) to exceptional customer service. They offer all the classy presentation of the well-known, high-end agents, with the personal engagement & attention to detail of a small, boutique firm. I’d never consider going anywhere else when I next move.”
