Ralph reviews a detached modern family house in Tattenhall
I don’t know about you but the long summer evenings always inspire me to take up a new hobby. In the midst of winter all I want to do is snuggle up by the fire but in summer, well something about the light evenings makes me want to explore new opportunities. Last year it was tennis but the irresistible urge to run off with the balls had me thrown out of the local tennis club so this year I opted for a hobby with an all together different vibe. Inspired by some of the amazing magicians on Britain’s Got Talent (which I have been watching avidly), I decided to turn my paw to magic – how difficult can it be? I can easily steal a titbit of food without anyone noticing, so surely this will be a piece of cake (pardon the pun)? So I have spent my evenings practising my card tricks, producing a rabbit out of a hat (now that was quite difficult to resist) and trying to persuade mum to be sawn in half (without success). My visions of a legendary show in Las Vegas, famed the world over, have kept me busy at it but suffice to say, it is not as easy as it looks!
I have to confess that I was rather relieved when I was called upon to cast my eye over the subject of this week’s Ralph’s Review as it was rather nice to leave the cards, magic wand and saw behind for a few hours! Dad and I hopped in the car for our road trip to the village of Tattenhall. When we arrived we turned into a quiet cul-de-sac and dad pulled the car to a halt in the driveway of a very pleasant modern detached family home, No. 2 Barnfield.
As I clambered down from the car I looked around, admiring the welcoming façade and lovely lawned areas. My scrutinising gaze missed nothing and, within a quick scan of the area I had established that this home would be very useful for a multi-car family- with a driveway, single garage and carport, there were plenty of areas to park. I had also spied multiple large, established trees in the front garden – the perfect spot for the family dog to have an emergency toilet break after a long car journey (I should know – I had forgotten to attend to the call of nature before we left and so this was my first port of call before trotting over to the front door!)
Once over the threshold, I found myself in a spacious entrance hall, I popped my head round a door located just to my left and found a very handy cloakroom. Walking past the stairs to the upper storey, I made my way to the back of the house where I found myself in a very light, welcoming and contemporary sitting/dining room.
With a feature fireplace at one end of the room, this made for a really cosy sitting room feel, whilst the dining area at the other end opened into a conservatory on one side making it feel really open and bright.
A door from the other side of the dining area led me into an attractive kitchen with charming wood effect units. My eye, however, was irresistibly drawn to a built in pantry- imagine all the packets of bone broth, bonios, milky bones and Bella and Bounce treats I could store in there – yummy!
Still licking my lips in anticipatory delight, I made my way back to the hallway and trotted affably up the stairs to the first floor. I found myself on a large landing before discovering three good-sized double bedrooms, one with a very handy built-in cupboard as well as a bright and contemporary family bathroom. Having had forty winks in a sunny patch on one of the bedroom floors I can report that the bedrooms offer a very calm and serene atmosphere! I only woke up because dad popped his head round the bedroom door and “huffed” rather pointedly. I opened one eye, saw the rather disapproving expression on his face, stretched, yawned and languorously got to my feet!
I followed him back downstairs and headed off to explore the back garden. I found a good-sized and well kept garden, partly lawned and partly terraced. The perfect spot for a bit of al fresco entertaining but also a garden that a green-pawed dog and their human could really put their own stamp onto.
As I made my way back to the car, I commented that 2 Barnfield really is a perfect family home, one that would complement modern family life to perfection. If you think that your family may like to live in 2 Barnfield, please do not hesitate to contact myself or one of my team on 01244 322322 or info@rickittpartnership.co.uk to arrange a viewing.
Until next time
