Ralph reviews a detached new build house in Kelsall

Every day at Rickitt Partnership is a new experience which, as a pug with a zest for life, I thoroughly enjoy. This week saw me visiting a new build detached house in the delightful village of Kelsall.

Last time I visited 2 Woodland Rise you may remember that there were still some finishing touches to be finalised and I was ecstatic at the thought of having to don a hard hat and high-vis vest for my visit. Disappointingly, I was told that this was not necessary this week as the build is now complete.  However, gripped with Spring-fever I did not let this get me down and set off to Kelsall with a brightly coloured gilet proving to be a noble replacement for my high-vis!

The journey to Kelsall passed very quickly with my head out the window, enjoying the early spring sunshine.  No sooner had I set my chops flapping in the wind than I looked up to find myself outside this fabulous and expansive contemporary new build home

I reluctantly contained my excitement whilst dad buttoned up my gilet and then I launched myself out the car and up to the house.  As I did the first time I visited,  I made a beeline to a set of spectacular bifolding doors. Conveniently, these were once again open and so I stepped inside to find myself in a fabulous open plan room. The kitchen, fitted out with contemporary units and a centre island is at one end of the room and has double glazed double doors out into the garden, whilst the space I was standing in was vast and would probably be used as a family room and dining area. I can imagine it filled with noise and laughter, mum and her friends drinking wine and chatting at the centre island in the kitchen, and my human brother in the family room with his friends, not chatting at all but animatedly texting each other! Peering through the glass of the bifolding doors from this angle I suddenly realised what spectacular views Woodland Rise has – gosh what fabulous walks right on your doorstep.

Adventuring further into the house I found a large and practical utility room off the kitchen, a cloakroom off the hall as well as no less than 2 additional reception rooms – I was delighted to find that one of these rooms, the drawing room, also has bifolding doors and it was easy to picture this as a more formal room in which to entertain guests – with the bifolding doors open my friends from dog agility classes would have a whale of a time socialising inside and out. On the opposite side of the hallway I found the perfect man-and-pug cave. This reception room is almost as large as the drawing room and has a small room leading off it which we could loosely call a “study” aka a great place to store my dad and I’s extensive collection of DVDs. Then the plan would be to cosy up for some quality boy time on a large L-shaped sofa and watch films and American TV series to our hearts’ content.

Upstairs delivered equally as much as downstairs, both in terms of space and a feeling of contemporary, clean living. Pottering around I found no less than five bedrooms, three of which have en suite showers as well as a family bathroom

Outside I gleefully explored the double garage and was delighted to see that there is plenty of parking space for more cars.  I also discovered two paved terrace areas with the rest of the garden laid to lawn. This is just delightful, my family would love nothing better than sitting on the terrace outside the family room, with glass of wine in hand, looking out over the spectacular views with me sleeping peacefully at their feet – the perfect family tableau.

In my humble opinion, 2 Woodland Rise is an exciting addition to Cheshire’s property market and I have no doubt that it will be snapped up by a discerning buyer who wants a quality family home in one of the best locations in Cheshire.  If you are interested in viewing it, we are holding an Open House event on 9 March between 12 and 1pm and we would be delighted to see you there (especially if you bring me Wainwrights dog biscuits!).  Please call me on 01244 322322 to book your appointment.

Until next time

Ralph reviews a contemporary detached house in Willaston

I’m not sure about you but I just love going for walks on these crisp late Autumn days – the fallen leaves hide a multitude of treasures which I delight in snuffling out and presenting to my mum as gifts.  This week I have collected a small pile of acorns, two (highly prized) conkers, a family of earwigs attached to the underside of a stick, a snail and three beetles.  As I drop each gift at mum’s feet she looks at me with a curious mixture of pride and consternation… Read more
